I am a Malayali guy born in Nigeria, brought up in Kerala, educated in Pune and now working in Mumbai. So I have experienced variety of taste senses. I love eating....especially Non Vegtarian Food. I am a Foodiee.
My mom is the best cook in the world. I love her for her sense of cooking and her quickness in cooking. She used to prepare lot of deserts for me and my brother when we were young. My Dad is offcourse a Food Lover. He loves to experiment with Food. So all in all, our family can be called a FOODIEE Family.
Being a true food lover, I have been exploring food joints and restaurants in Mumbai for the last 3 years. I intend to share my food experiences in Mumbai through this Blog. I would like to thank my friends for being with me and telling me about new food joints.
I would like to start this blog with the place I love the most in Mumbai. The Divine Sweet manufacturers.
I never knew, these guys are the makers of divine sweets, till i checkedout their store in Vashi, Sector - 17. These guys make the best Mysore Paa in the world. They specialise in pure ghee sweets. I go to their store once in a week to have my quota of Mysore Paa. 2 pieces of Mysore Paa satisfies me.
Sree Krishna Sweets is a South Indian Chain of Pure Ghee Sweets Shops. They have many branches in Mumbai and are expanding quite fast. They have even branches abroad.
Some other sweets you may try out here are Badami Halwa and Gilebi.

Being a South Indian, I am a true lover of South Indian Food. The Dosas, Medu Vadas and the Filter Coffees. That brings me to Cafe Madras, the south indian paradise.
The Cafe Madras is one of the oldest South Indian Food Joints in Mumbai. Located in the heart of Matunga at Sion Circle, this place is frequently visited by many celebrities. This cafe belongs to some guys from a place near Udupi, Karnataka.
This place is always crowded and most of the times, you will have to share the table with others. They have very limited space and hence the management requests very politely to share the table. I don't mind sharing the table here, as I am more interested in having the food, that having a table exclusively for me. The waiters are really good and they love people who eat much.
The best thing about Cafe Madras is that they serve everything fresh. Me and my friend always order Filter Coffee at the beginning itself and then start eating. They make awesome dosas, upmas, medu vadas, and most important Appam & Stew (served only after 6 pm).
In addition to the food, they have a small store outside which sells all the South Indian Snacks, murukkus, achappams and all. They even sell the coffee making machines also.

Being a Mallu Christian, I am an avid lover of Non Vegetarian Food. I love chicken the most, followed by mutton and den fish. In Mumbai, i have come across many places that serve awesome non vegetarian food.
The place that i am gonna introduce next is offcourse not the one that serves you the best food in Mumbai, but it is one of the most sought after street side food joint in South Mumbai.
The main attraction is of this place is the location and the timings. This food joint is adjacent to the Gateway of India and is just behind the Taj Mahal Hotel. They start operating in the evening and will remain open till the early morning.
They serve mouth watering sheekh kababs, baida rotis and roomali rotis. I agree they dont have much to offer to the vegetarians, but this place is a delight for non-vegies like me. As soon as you approach this place, you can see long like of cars parked and people having food sitting inside the car. They serve food in your car. This is an added advantage and makes sense for people who wanna booze in their car and eat some really good Non-Veg to supplement it.
The dishes are also moderately priced considering the location of this corner. Although they have started a new restaurant in Fort area, I didnt like the food being served there. So I am only recommending the Bademiya near Gateway of India.

Barbeque Nation
I tried out this place for the first time in 2011, when they started an outlet in Navi Mumbai. I heard a lot about this place from my friends. They are having outlets in Bandra, Andheri and other places also.
I saw the sign board of Barbeque Nation at Nerul, on the Palm Beach Road, when i was driving to Belapur. I got excited, I took a halt there, checked up with the people who were standing der. They told me that the restaurant will be open in a months time. I decided to visit this place as soon as it is ready.
Finally, within one month the restaurant was inaugurated. Though, i couldnt reach there on the first day, I went to that place in the first week. Waited for 10-15 minutes, got a place to sit and enjoy the amazing variety of barbeques.
